Margaret (Peg) Jackson, Priest Associate at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Webster City, Iowa, comes from a background as an elementary teacher, having worked in the Fort Dodge Community School District from 1968-1997. She was an instructor in curriculum for the Area Educational Agency from 1994-1997 and served as an adjunct faculty member at Buena Vista University, Fort Dodge Center from 1997-2000.
Ms. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Music from Yankton College in SD in 1958; a BA from Augustana College, SD, in 1968, and an MA from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul in 1990. She attended the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities from 2001-2003. She is a volunteer advocate for the Domestic/Sexual Abuse Outreach Center (D/SAOC), and a member of the Outside Council for the Church of the Damascus Road. Ms. Jackson has two adult children and five grandchildren. She has been a member of St. Mark's, Fort Dodge since 1968, serving as vestry person, Sunday School teacher, choir director, homilist and lector.
The Rt. Rev. Alan Scarfe, with the consent of the people, ordained Ms. Jackson to the Sacred Order of Deacons on June 12, 2004 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Webster City, and to the Sacred Order of Priests on January 15, 2005, at St. Mark's Church, Fort Dodge. She will continue to work in both congregations as Priest Associate.
